Refugees and immigrants often arrive in Arizona knowing little to no English. Learning English is crucial to success in education, work, and the path to self-sufficiency. In addition to language barriers, many aspects of everyday life in the U.S. are new to refugees and immigrants—for example, using public transportation, understanding report cards, and filling out job applications. Inclusion of life, work, and civics topics in English language classes accelerates students’ process of integration.
We offer ESL Classes with instructors who also speak the following languages-
Our English as a Second Language (ESL) program is focused on increasing students’ English proficiency, allowing them to become more active members of the community. We tailor our classes to the unique needs of refugees and immigrants.
To register for classes, students should contact ESL Program Supervisor Etienne Ahayo at 480-358-7189 to schedule an appointment.
